I believe the problems and issues we all experience in life provide us with opportunities for growth and development. This can happen through a healthy understanding and relevant modification in our behavior and lifestyle. All of our thoughts, feelings and behaviors are interconnected. Changes in one area effects the others which, in turn, impact who we are and how we present ourselves to the world around us. We are all unique and effective counseling can bring about change in our thinking.

As your counselor, my role is to help promote your growth in a collaborative way by establishing an environment where mutual trust and respect can develop and flourish. As we journey down the path together we will establish goals we can both be comfortable with. These goals will serve as milestones to measure progress.

I work with individual clients and couples in private and group settings. Areas of focus include depression and anxiety, stress reduction, relationship issues and post traumatic stress disorders. Many of these issues can be co-occurring with unhealthy substance use patterns. As a result, I also work with substance and process addictions in order to treat the whole person. Finally, I use my counseling training and business experience to help people work through career related issues.

My theoretical bases include Cognitive Behavioral work, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy, among others. I also believe that mindfulness is crucial for self awareness of our patterns of living which, in turn, helps provide clarity of purpose.
